Integrity. That is one of the words the title banner for this blog. Integrity is best measured by our actions when no one else is around.
One of the greatest threats to our integrity is pornography. The accessibility to pornography is the easiest it has ever been, and the effects of it on our society and homes is staggering.
I don’t think I have to spend time convincing most readers of this blog that pornography is wrong. What I do hope to accomplish in this post is to give you resources to help overcome or stay away from pornography.
The first recommended resource is Covenant Eyes. This is an app that can be installed on computers, tablets, and mobile phones. The app keeps track of online activity and then sends a report to your friend(s) whom you chose when signing up. The report will note any activity that may be of the mature level. Just being aware that someone will know if I access online pornography has been an excellent deterrent for those times when temptation knocks.
I hope many of you will take advantage of this tool to help you in the fight against pornography. One of the reasons why fighting this particular sin is so hard is because no one wants to talk about it.
Sin festers and grows in isolation.
The whole world definitely does not need to see your online activity. However, a few trusted friends (or your spouse) should know if accessing pornography online is a struggle. Don’t fight this sin alone.
One other word: Don’t just think about your need to avoid pornography. For those of you who are dads – you need to be thinking about how to protect your children from pornography as well. Something like Covenant Eyes could prevent your children from struggling with temptation in isolation.
What tools do you use to fight internet pornography?

For Women Only by Shaunti Feldhahn & For Men Only by Shaunti Feldhahn and Jeff Feldhahn
(These books are great tools to help husbands and wives start talking about sexuality and the temptations that both men and women deal with. If it is even possible for men and women to understand each other, these books are a step in the right direction! I have an extra set of these books if someone wants them.)
Wired for Intimacy: How Pornography Hijacks the Male Brain by William Struthers (This book is about the harmful effects of pornography, not a justification for pornographic use).
